Best Time to Visit Ladakh

Ladakh experiences extreme weather conditions. The best time to visit depends entirely on what you want to experience.

Summer (May to September)

This is the peak tourist season. The weather is pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C. All roads, including the Manali-Leh and Srinagar-Leh highways, are open. It's the perfect time for sightseeing, trekking, and biking.

Autumn (October to November)

The landscape turns golden and red. It gets colder, especially at night, but the skies are clear and the crowds are thinner. A great time for photography.

Winter (December to April)

Ladakh transforms into a frozen wonderland. Temperatures can drop to -30°C. The highways are closed, so flying is the only option. This season is for extreme adventure seekers, famous for the Chadar Trek (frozen river trek) and spotting the elusive Snow Leopard.
